Last month,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwas formally announced with a reveal that focused exclusively on the game’s campaign, leaving players wondering about its multiplayer component. Fortunately for them, Activision has kept its promise toproperly revealBlack Ops Cold War’smultiplayer today, providing fans with a clear picture of what they can expect from this year’sCOD.

The reveal touches upon pretty much every aspect of the multiplayer, detailing everything from from the maps to howCall of Duty: Warzonewill be integrated withCall of Duty:Black Ops Cold War. Amid all of the official details, Activision and Treyarch also confirmed a number of new and returning modes, including familiar standbys like Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Domination, and Kill Confirmed.

In addition, the publisher confirmed that Control will be returning with the new game. The point-control mode quicklybecame a fan-favorite when it was introduced in 2018’sBlack Ops 4, which makes its absence inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareall the more glaring. No doubt fans will be glad to know that the nextBlack Opsgame won’t be making the same mistake.

Along with existing modes,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill feature a variety of brand new ones as well, like theVIP-escorting mode that was leaked last week, aptly named VIP Escort. This 6v6 elimination mode randomly selects a player to become a VIP and tasks one team with safely escorting them to an extraction point while the other team tries to take them out. Unlike other elimination modes, though, non-VIP players are merely downed when they lose their health, giving their teammates a chance to revive them.

Other new additions will offer larger-scale experiences than the typicalCODmode. These include Combined Arms, a 12v12 mix of infantry and vehicular combat that will offer players access toBlack Ops Cold War’s different vehicles ranging from jet skis to tanks, depending on the map. Raising the player count even higher will be Fireteam, a new 40-player category that will revolve around four teams of ten players. Activision will have more to share about this closer to the game’s launch, but did confirm that the first Fireteam mode will be called Dirty Bomb.

Combined with abeefed-up campaign from Raven Software, the return of Zombies mode, and integration withWarzone, it looks like players shouldn’t be wanting for content whenBlack Ops Cold Wardrops.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill launch on November 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are also in development.
