In preparation for the launch ofZombies ChroniclesforCall of Duty: Black Ops 3on PlayStation 4 next week, developer Treyarch has released a new update for the shooter. The update is available for all platforms, and fixes a number of issues, while also preparing various features for the zombie expansion.

The patch notes for theBlack Ops 3update are short, but offer some insight into the newly available changes. For the most part, the changes are positive, as they fix some issues players have had with the game.

For instance, some players lost some of theirSupply Drop bundlesrecently, and the patch adds those back. The update will also make sure that any Supply Drops PS4 players currently have in their inventory won’t be lost when Zombies Chronicles goes live.

The patch also “addresses a number of general performance issues,” though no details are provided about which issues are addressed. Additionally, gamers will no longer be able to equip camos before unlocking them, and the Create-a-Class and Gunsmith attachment items will load more quickly in the menus.

Finally, the Ballistic Knife is getting a couple minor updates. Ballistic Knife blades are now recoverable, and will properly register headshots when the Kill Counter or Clan Tag attachments are equipped.

While gamers will surely appreciate the various fixes and updated features, it seems they are still a bit hesitant to purchase the $30 Zombies Chronicles expansion forBlack Ops 3. That’s a hefty price tag for rehashed – albeit remastered – content that mostCall of DutyZombies fans have already experienced. Tack on the fact thatCall of Duty: WW2will come with its own zombie experience, and it may be that many, if not most,Call of Dutyfans will simply wait for the next iteration of the zombie saga fromCall of Duty.

That said, Treyarch is throwing in a handful of enticing goodies for those willing topre-order the DLC. Players can nab 20 vials of Liquid Divinium, two new GobbleGums, and a special Pack-a-Punch weapon camo. Additionally, Treyarch is throwing a special 8 Days of the Undead event, where players will receive double XP in both the Zombies Chronicle expansion and the core game.

The good news is allBlack Ops 3owners will benefit from the update, even if they don’t pick up Zombies Chronicles. The full patch notes for theBlack Ops 3update can be found below:
