Summary

Telltale, in both of its forms, haalve ways been known for the crafting of its stories. This has included some of the most likable and sympathetic protagonists in modern gaming. Critical to this is the creation of villains who push the protagonists to their very limits. Thankfully for players, Telltale has created and adapted apantheon of iconic antagonists.

The depth and breadth ofvillains in Telltale gamesis one of the studio’s selling points to players. From giving established comic book villains a fresh new perspective to characterizing completely new original characters, Telltale has a wide portfolio when it comes to crafting villains. One thing is consistent though, these villains go to incredible lengths to ensure a bad outcome for our heroes.

Ramsey Bolton

Ramsey Boltonarrives at Ironrath as the representative of the Boltons after the Red Wedding. The Boltons are now in charge of the North, and House Forrester is no exception. Although he only spends a very short amount of time on screen, he dominates every scene he is in, and many that he isn’t.

Played by the TV show actor Iwan Rheon, Ramsey is just as cold, cruel, and unnerving as he is in the books and TV series. The tension in the air when he appears on-screen is an extremelyrare thing for a gameto achieve.

When players are first introduced toLillyin Season 1 ofTelltale’s The Walking Dead, she is a blunt person with a tendency to wish to control the situations she is in. However, she cares for the group and, depending on player choices, can form an effective partnership with Lee. Her actions in Episode 3, however, set her on the path to villainy.

The Wolf Among Us The Crooked Man

When players come across her again in Season 4, she is a changed person. Much more conniving and brutal, the good in her has disappeared, and her bad qualities have taken over. Knowing that she was once a better person adds an interesting dynamic to the limited interactions with her in Season 4 and makes her avery effective antagonist.

Upon the conclusionof his initial investigations, Bigby Wolf realized that there was a bigger fish in town than the man he initially suspected of murder. That big fish isThe Crooked Man, a loan shark who wields major influence in the underbelly of Fabletown.

Joker with Batman in the background

Not introduced on-screen until Episode 3, The Crooked Man has a hand in every action the more minor villains take, and always appears to be one step ahead of Bigby. Attempting to free those in his servitude is a worthwhile undertaking for players as they try to bring his reign of terror to an end.

Batman: The Enemy Within

Descend Back into Darkness!

In this latest chapter from the award-winning studio behind Batman – The Telltale Series, both Bruce Wayne and Batman will be forced into precarious new roles. The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions. Which of Batman’s new allies will you choose to trust? And how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend?

The story of Batman: The Enemy Within happens across five episodes:

Telltale’s The Walking Dead The St Johns

InBatman: The Enemy Within,Batman must face a new criminal group called ‘The Pact’. Within this group is a former asylum patient called John Doe, whom Batman had allied with in the previous game. Throughout the game, John and Batman have a relationship that is often mutually beneficial.

At the end of the game, it is the player who ultimately decides the sort of villain John eventually becomes. Giving the Joker a morally grey story felt likea fresh takeon the iconic character, and the relationship between him and Batman is the driving force of the narrative that makes it all the more crushing when John finally goes full villain.

In Episode 2 of the first season ofTelltale’s The Walking Dead, our group of survivors are struggling for food while camping in the Motor Inn. They get an offer of shelter from a group of local dairy farmers, theSt. Johns, that they can’t afford to refuse. Throughout their short time at the farm, though, it becomes apparent that it isn’t just dairy productson the menu.

The St. Johns are incredible villains because of the impact they have in such a short amount of time. They radically change the direction, outlook, and composition of the main group. Each member of the family, from the seemingly hospitable Brenda to the creepy Danny, makes a major impression, and this is an extraordinary feat considering the episode is only around 2 hours long.
