Summary

Considering Quirks come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, many of them fit into subcategories according to their properties and abilities, but some of the most dangerous in theMy Hero Academiaseries are the transformation Quirks. As the description implies, these unique abilities allow the user to mutate their bodies to not only enhance their strength but also their durability and, in some cases, even their speed.

The overall effectiveness of transformation Quirks can vary wildly between abilities, though throughoutMy Hero Academia, there have been plenty that have proven to be incredibly tough to deal with. That being said, it’s time to take a closer look at the strongest transformation Quirks that have appeared in the series to see which stands as the most powerful of the bunch.

8Hardening

Eijiro Gains A Defensive Suit Of Armor Which Can Dish Out Tons Of Damage

While Kirishima uses his Hardening Quirk a few times during the early exams, it’s in theOverhaul raidwhere he really gets the show off this ability in all its glory. By focusing his energy and hardening his body, Kirishima is able to turn himself into a walking tank capable of absorbing plenty of hard-hitting attacks without even feeling a thing.

On the other hand, though, he is also able to slice and dice his opponents with his sharp edges, something Overhaul’s goons came to find out when they were eventually taken down by Kirishima, who decided to go all-out with his power. It’s definitely a tricky Quirk to use, but one which can make quick work of a villain who is unaware of its underlying potential.

7Blade Tooth

Lightning Fast And Extremely Dangerous, Blade Tooth Has Turned Its User Into A Maniacal Killer

Fans will remember Moonfish as the creepy-looking villain who joins in on the attack on the Forest Training Camp early in the story. The reason this guy is wrapped up in a straitjacket is that he was actually on death row before he was hired by theLeague of Villains. The truth is, he is a maniacal killer who has killed plenty of innocent civilians with his Blade Tooth Quirk, where he can turn his teeth into long, sharp daggers to pierce anyone who stands in his way.

While the ability itself is already extremely strong, it’s also surprising just how fast it is in practice, with Moonfish being able to shoot out his teeth like bullets anytime he spots a target. Those with durable defenses or high enough mobility may be able to survive an attack from the villain known as Moonfish, but the average citizen won’t stand a chance against this guy’s unique ability.

6Rivet Stab

All For One Has Used Rivet Stab On Countless Occasions to Deal With His Foes

All For One’s Quirk has allowed him to amass an entire arsenal of abilities for him to choose from in battle, but the one which is his usual go-to is Rivet Stab. In a similar vein to Teeth Blade, Rivet Stab allowsAll For Oneto fire out long spiky tendrils from his fingers, and it’s fair to say he certainly isn’t shy about using this Quirk time he catches an enemy off guard.

Not only did the ability deal some significant damage to All Might during his confrontation with AFO early in the series, but even Shigaraki would decide to use it when he faced off against Deku, not before the final war. Considering how much these two love throwing out Rivet Stab, it’s clearly an ability with pretty impressive offensive capabilities.

5Permeation

Mirio Has Been Able To Use His Oddball Quirk To Great Effect

When thinking of a transformation Quirk, most people will imagine a character turning into a giant beast or a monster, but Permeation is a lot different as it barely changes anything about Mirio’s body, at least from a visual perspective. Instead, Permeation makes Mirio’s body completely intangible any time he switches it on, meaning he will completely phase through walls, floors, and even the air itself, making it apretty risky abilityto use.

Despite that, though, he’s been able to find some pretty creative ways to make use of it and has actually managed to turn it into a formidable ability, capable of wiping out even the strongest of villains. For example, Mirio figured out that if he phased through a floor, he would then be able to shoot himself back up once he deactivated it to launch one massive uppercut. It definitely has its drawbacks, but there’s no denying that Permeation is still incredibly strong when in the right hands.

4Rifle

The Top Marksman In Japan Is Capable Of Wiping Out Her Enemies From A Safe Distance

After Deku decides to go rogue and abandon UA, he has little problem sweeping up the villains who are roaming the streets, thanks to him now possessing multiple Quirks at once, but one villain who causes him a lot of problems is Nagant. Nagant’s Rifle quirk, which transforms her right arm into a sniper rifle, allowed her to earn the position as the greatest marksman in all of Japan.

As a result, she’s capable of picking out her enemies from a safe distance without ever needing to put herself at risk, and she’s even mastered it to such a degree that her bullets can curve around buildings. To put it simply, the only reason Deku was able to survive Nagant’s shots was due to him possessing an unfathomable level of speed by combining his Quirks, but anyone else would be down and out after only a few seconds if Nagant were aiming for them.

3Stress

Re-Detsro Becomes An Absurdly Powerful Behemoth When He Gets Worked Up

On the surface, Re-Destro presents himself as a well-mannered and polite businessman, but the truth is, he often has trouble balancing out his emotions, and it’s all due to his Stress Quirk. Anytime Re-Destro starts getting a little worked up or irritated, black goo surrounds his body as he transforms into a giant brute who is so strong that even Shigaraki had trouble taking him down.

Stress also makes theleader of the Meta Liberation Armyextremely durable and, considering his enormous size, extremely difficult to pin down. Re-Destro may be more of a strategist than a fighter, but anyone who gets on his bad side will quickly realize that the inspirational leader doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty every now and again once he transforms.

2Gigantification

Mt. Lady’s Size And Strength Have Made Her Infamous Among The Villain Underworld

Mt. Lady’s Quirk may not be all that flashy or complex, but as has been shown numerous times over the course of the series, it’s one of the most effective abilities the heroes have for wiping out large groups of villains at once. In just a few seconds, Mt. Lady is able to grow to enormous proportions, allowing her to not only stomp out smaller villains but also deal with some of the much larger ones, too, thanks to the massive strength boost.

A prime example of this comes not long before the final war kicks off when Mt. Lady is able to hold off the giant monster known as Gigantomachia single-handedly. Up to that point, nobody was able to even harm Gigantomachia, let alone stand toe-to-toe with him. There are many examples like this of Mt. Lady showing off her impressive surge in power, especially inthe final war against All For One and Shigaraki.

1Muscle Augmentation

Muscular Wiped Out Plenty Of Professional Heroes With His Dangerous Transformation Ability

Despite not appearing in the story until theForest Training Camp arc, Muscular has been spreading chaos across Japan behind the scenes for many years. As a villain who cares only about killing as many people as possible, Muscular uses his Muscle Augmentation work to give him the strength he needs to clobber the strongest of heroes. In fact, it’s confirmed that Muscular was even able to murder Water Hose, a duo of Pro Heroes who were also Koda’s parents.

When Deku decided to stand up against Muscular, he couldn’t even land a scratch on him until using 100% of his power, breaking his own bones in the process. With a sturdy coat of armor protecting his body and fists as big as pile drivers, Muscular is a terrifyingly strong villain who no doubt would have continued his killing spree if Deku hadn’t stepped in when he did.
