This past week has seen a few more Xbox 360 games added to the Xbox One backward compatibility lineup. A few days ago,Metal Gear Rising: RevengeanceandScreamridemade their way to the service, and nowBattlefield: Bad Company, the story-driven spinoff of DICE’s premiere FPS franchise, is playable on Xbox One as well.

Battlefield: Bad Company, known for its comedic tone and colorful cast of characters, is just the latest EA game added to the backward compatibility lineup. EA has supported Microsoft’s backward compatibility effort since the first year it launched, which has seen the mega publisher add some of its most critically-acclaimed games from last generation to the service, includingBattlefield: Bad Company’s well-received sequel.

And just likeBattlefield: Bad Company 2,Bad Companyhas also joined the EA Access Vault. So any Xbox One owners that have signed up for EA’s subscription service should have a new game to download and play, just one week after the company added last year’sBattlefield 1to the Vault.

With the addition ofBattlefield: Bad Companyto the EA Access Vault and the Xbox One backward compatibility lineup, Xbox One owners have access to most of theBattlefieldgames released over the last two console generations. There are still a couple of titles missing, likeBattlefield 1943andBattlefield 2: Modern Combat, but it’s possible those games will make their way to the service at some point in the future as well.

Moving forward, expect EA to continue supporting both Xbox One’s backward compatibility initiative and the EA Access Vault. After all, the publisher has been a strong partner for Microsoft this console generation, especially afterSony declined the opportunity to have EA Accessavailable on PlayStation 4, and there’s no sign that its support will die down any time soon.

In the meantime, one has to wonder if interest will be reignited in theBad Companyseries now that both games are available to play on Xbox One. If so, EA and DICE may consider revisitingBattlefield: Bad Company 3, which has been rumored for years.

Battlefield: Bad Companyis available now for PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
