Battlefield 2042has finally been released after a long wait time and most people would’ve wished that the game was in the oven for a few more months, at least. The game feels rushed across the board, with everything from its content to the bugs serving as a major detriment to the overall experience. Suffice to say, most fans aren’t happy with the current state of the game and have found a wealth of problems that take away from the overall experience.

Given the manner in which most DICE titles end up getting better after release, most people can expect thatBattlefield 2042will receive the same treatment. There is a litany of issues that need to be sorted out, with the following fixes being paramount to ensure thattheBattlefieldseriesdoesn’t lose the trust of its hardcore fanbase.

10More Weapons

Battlefield 2042shipped out with a disappointing amount of content that has left most fans incensed and enraged. One of the worst parts about this lack of content is the fact thatplayers don’t really have access to too many weapons!

As a result, gameplay inBattlefield 2042feels slightly shallow compared to its contemporaries. Hopefully, future updates will bring with it a whole host of weapons that can spice up the gameplay quite a bit.

9A Campaign Mode

Star Wars: Battlefrontwas a game that was widely criticized across the board for lacking a campaign mode that could make things way more interesting. So, it’s somewhat disheartening to see EA and DICE make the same mistake once again.

The fact thatBattlefield 2042lacks a campaign mode is a huge negative that has peeved most fans off to no end. The lack of a campaign is indicative of the fact that the game was released solely to pander to the multiplayer audience and was churned out as fast as possible without caring for the game’s quality.

8More Game Modes

For what it’s worth, a lack of a campaign mode would’ve still been digestible ifBattlefield 2042’s multiplayer had made up for it. Unfortunately, it seems that DICE has dropped the ball in this department as well.

The lack of game modes present inBattlefield 2042is simply astonishing. Players absolutely need to partake in matches of a massive scale if they want to make the most out of this game, with game modes that feature limited players being a thing of the past.

7Better Lobbies And Matchmaking

Most multiplayer games face a ton of issues stemming fromselecting lobbies and doing proper matchmaking. This is an avenue whereBattlefield 2042has faltered quite a bit.

For some reason, the game lacks persistent lobbies, meaning that players will have to matchmake after every game. Given how basic this feature really is, it’s a shame thatBattlefield 2042lacks such a crucial mechanic!

6Improved Character Customization

The idea of integrated Specialists inBattlefield 2042was widely ridiculed by the fanbase. It seems that DICE was adamant about including these characters, which has heavily affected the overall game feel.

Battling players who look exactly like you with minor costume alterations feels extremely jarring and takes away from the game’s overall impact. DICE needs to integrate character customization so that each soldier on the battlefield looks and feels unique, instead of being the same re-skinned character over and over again.

5More Vehicles

Another problem most players have noticed when it comes toBattlefield 2042is the fact that the game doesn’t really have a tonof vehiclesthat can be played around with. As a result, vehicular traversal and combat also feel a bit repetitive after a point.

Of course, the solution to this problem is quite simple. DICE just needs to add more vehicles in future updates so that vehicular gameplay becomes all the more engaging!

4An Enjoyable Scoring System

One of the biggest problems that players have withBattlefield 2042is the lack of a scoreboard. It’s possible that DICE added this change to promote player inclusivity, but the drawbacks it has on gameplay are clear for everyone to see.

Along with this, the scoring itself is rather woeful. There are no bonuses given for any special player actions, making gameplay somewhat more trite and unenjoyable. DICE could definitely win players over by overhauling the scoring system with a few timely updates!

3A Greater Selection Of Maps

Just likeStar Wars: Battlefront,Battlefield 2042also sportsa disappointing collection of mapsthat can get rather boring to play in after a point. It’s a shame that the game didn’t release with more maps, since such a small change would’ve done wonders to make gameplay all the more interesting.

Instead, most players just want to enjoy a game with a ton of gameplay variety. Having more than just a handful of maps would be extremely beneficial in that regard.

2A Better And More Cohesive UI

The UI ofBattlefield 2042is surprisingly confusing and hard to understand. This is quite surprising given the sheer amount of resources that have gone towards developing this title.

Thankfully, updating and changing the UI shouldn’t be too much of a challenge. This aspect ofBattlefield 2042has already made major strides since the beta, and it’s only a matter of time before the UI is altered to make it even more legible for the masses.

1Removing The Post-Match Quips

Perhaps the worst inclusion inBattlefield 2042isthe annoying post-match comments made by Specialistsafter every game. While these comments might fit in other titles, a game in a gritty series likeBattlefieldshould be the last place where soldiers should brag about their achievements on the field.

A simple tweak should be enough to at least give players the option of hearing these quotes. People who care about immersing themselves in the series can choose to remove these comments from the game so that they don’t have to be consistently irritated by this out-of-place banter.
