Battlefield 1fans discover a tease of two new multiplayer modes coming to the DICE and Electronic Arts first-person shooter, with one being a Hardcore mode.

Although the majority ofBattlefield 1’smaps and game modeshave been revealed well ahead of tomorrow’s official launch for the title, it seems as if the developers at DICE and Electronic Arts have at least two more multiplayer modes in mind. Thanks to the attentiveness of several fans of the forthcomingBattlefield 1, the release’s server browser has divulged the addition of two game modes dubbed Fog of War and Hardcore.

Those who have been taking part inBattlefield 1’sEA and Origin Accessmay have noticed that there is a page in the title dedicated to custom games under multiplayer. Right up until the developer’s release of the title’s Early Enlister Edition, the page in question didn’t have anything posted, but now that the game has become available in Australia and New Zealand, it has been updated with the tease of both the Hardcore and Fog of War modes.

As seen in the screenshot below taken by the Reddit user known as FOGofGAMING, it shows the two aforementionedBattlefield 1game modes a “coming soon.” However, the developers at EA DICE haven’t officially discussed either of them in the press, nor does the listing give any details about the forthcoming modes beyond their potentiality of being available sometime in the future.

For gamers unfamiliar with theBattlefieldfranchise, the Hardcore mode has been a fan-favorite for quite some time, as it makes the game extra difficult and realistic by removing the HUD, reducing health, enabling friendly fire, and much more. The details for Fog of War, on the other hand, are — similar to the name itself — much more nebulous.

Nevertheless, even thoughBattlefield 1’s Fog of War mode lacks an official description, it doesn’t mean that one can’t speculate. Considering the fact that the game has a wide range ofdynamic weatheravailable across all of the title’s multiplayer maps, it’s a safe assumption to make that Fog of War simply obscures players' vision, with fog being present for the entirety of a match instead of occasionally coming to fruition.

Taking all of this into consideration, with DICE and Electronic Arts teasing both the Hardcore and Fog of War modes forBattlefield 1, fans will certainly be looking forward to trying them out whenever they become available. Not to mention, with the title having receivedgenerally favorable reviewsthus far, the addition of these two new modes ought to increase both fans' and critics' enjoyment ofBattlefield 1even more so in the future.

Battlefield 1is set to launch on July 25, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
