According toa statement provided to Techlusive, Vice President Arnold Su shared that Asus is going to be keeping up the momentum, sharing the company’s plan to release its successor sometime this year. According to Su, the plannedAsus ROG Ally successorwill continue using the Windows OS, though it will apparently be more focused on the gaming side. “We most likely will launch a second generation [handheld gaming console] this year. We will still keep the Windows features, but we will focus more on gaming,” said Su.
While Su mentioned that there are plans for the successor to be released this year, he didn’t provide any information about any preliminary specifications or improvements that will be made to the Asus ROG Ally. What Su did mention was thesales of the Asus ROG Ally, which have apparently been quite good in India, selling between 70,000-80,000 devices in the country.

While theAsus ROG Ally’s specs are quite goodalready, there are still some improvements that could be made to the handheld gaming PC in its successor. Some of these things include the software, ergonomics, and short battery life. Another that could be made is with the processor, going from the AMD Ryzen Z1 to the Ryzen Z2 Extreme. An upgrade to its base storage capacity from 512 GB to 1 TB would also be a welcome addition. This is mostly speculation though, so fans curious about a successor to Asus' handheld machine should wait until more official information is provided.
