Over the weekend, Ubisoft revealed a new title update forAssassin’s Creed: Originsthat promises many new features for the game, including a nightmare difficulty and horde mode. Fans may be excited about this new content, even those previouslyupset by the price of the First Civilization pack.

Nightmare mode may be one of the more promising features for the game since it is coupled with a new enemy-scaling option. Not only will enemies be harder to beat, but it will also be possible for lower-level areas to increase to the player’s level.Assassin’s Creed: Originsplayers seeking more of a challenge may encounter one now.

The update also adds Here Comes a New Challenger, a quest that introduces a horde mode in the Cyrene arena. Developers recommend being level 32 before facing multiple waves of enemies. Another key addition is a new Trials of the Gods event with players now facing Sekhmet. Those who missed the first two gods, Anubis and Sobek, will also get another chance later this month.

A surprise quest is also promised for players; the only hint given for this quest is a picture which appears to be a Chocobo’s tail. It appears to be a potential mount, yet it is unknown whether or not this surprise quest involves the previously undiscoveredFinal Fantasy 15-inspired tomb. Regardless, it is nice to seeFinal Fantasy-related features occurring inAssassin’s Creed: Origins.

The Gladiator Items pack is also arriving December 12, which includes the Spaniard’s Armor, the Palladium shield, Hercules’ Gladius (sword), Labrys (heavy blade), and Neptune’s Grasp (spear). Arriving Dec 26 is the Wacky Items Pack, which includes a mount and four weapons. The only hint given for this final item pack is the promise that it will match Bayek’s towel outfit.

This title update, including the aforementioned feature, releases sometime in December.
