Summary
As far as parts are concerned, the Head parts inArmored Core 6are not really that important; they give passable stats and most players will just choose the Head part for their ACs based on aesthetics. However, Head parts still provide some impact to an AC’s defenses, weapon aiming, tracking, and movement speed.

For people who value function over fashion when it comes tobuilding their ACs, the AH-J-124 BASHO is the ideal Head part for their mechs. It sports the second-highest Anti-Kinetic and highest Anti-Explosive Defense stats among all head parts, as well as boasting the highest AP at 1250.
However, it does struggle in Recovery and Weight and has subpar Attitude Stability stats. Also, when judging from aesthetics, the BASHO looks like a retro-inspired bot head that is often used for mechs specializing in construction, which is what its in-game description alludes to.

The HC-3000 WRECKER is another Head part that focuses onfunction over how it looks. It has high AP and defensive stats, most notably having the highest Anti-Kinetic Defense at 200. This makes ACs that have this Head part take more damage, especially against enemies that are running Kinetic-based weapons.

It does lack Attitude Stability and mightily struggles with System Recovery, though. Its weight also teeters between middleweight and heavyweight AC builds. Aesthetically, the WRECKER’s design feels like its purpose could best be served inside a factory that handles steelwork or welding. In some cases, this look can become awe-inspiring, but it does come across as a bit boxy compared to other Head part designs.

Players looking for the best scanning Head part should give the VE-44B a try. It has the highest Scan Distance and Scan Effect Duration in the game at 700 and 18 seconds, respectively, while also having good defensive stats. Its 1040 AP is decent, and it has a great Anti-Energy Defense at 181, which is ideal for tanking Energy Weapons. Its Attitude Stability stats are passable, and it has great System Recovery, but its Weight makes it one of the heavier Head parts inArmored Core 6.
The scanning perks give players a better view of the battlefield in terms of determining where enemies are located, as well as if there areany hidden treasures and logsin the Mission Mode. On the design side, the VE-44B has a very out-of-this-world build; it kind of looks like an alien with hammerhead features. In most cases, middleweight ACs should run this Head part due to its heftiness.
