Reddit user Calculusshitteru has made a funny discovery when playingAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, that Barold looks just likeJurassic Park’s villain Dennis Nedry when he’s wearing a Hawaiian print shirt. After changing the clothing of the lazy cub villager, he started to closely resemble the villain from themost famous dinosaur movie of the 90s.
TheAnimal Crossing: New Horizonscommunity is no stranger to customization or posting their creations online. The game is, after all, highly customizable and has a prominent social aspect. Not only can characters such as Barold and many other villagers can have their visuals changed easily, but it’s also possible to decorate homes and then invite friends to play.

In a post that received over 7,000 upvotes, Reddit user Calculusshitteru shared two pictures. One of them was an in-game screenshot of his character hanging out with Barold and the other one was from the famous meme in which the actor Wayne Knight, who played Dennis Nedry, appears using the iconic Hawaiian print shirt. It’s no secret that there’s an overlapbetweenAnimal CrossingandJurassic Parkfans. So, most will remember Nedry as the villain of the original movie who stole dinosaur embryos and sold them to an evil corporation. However, the character’s most recognizable feat online is not as much his role as the antagonist of the movie, but the famous scene turned into a meme in which Nedry points out to the guy with the hat and says “no one cares” while standing on the beach.
In the Reddit thread, there was no shortage of people comparing Barold, the bear, with other famous characters, too. Another user, Strawberrycancer, has commented that he actually reminds them ofLester fromGTA 5, to which the original poster agreed, and claimed that he was going to give him a plaid shirt next time to test this theory. Plantlovekittypunch, however, affirmed that Barold reminded him of Jordan Peele, the famous movie director behindGet Out,Us, andNope. So, it seems actually any middle-aged man with a round face and glasses can be actually compared to Barold if the person making the claim is creative enough.
