It’s Thursday again and that can only mean one thing,more free games are available on the Epic Games Store. Both will be available for free for the coming week until a new round of games takes their place.
Appearing on the list of free games is the first-person horror title,Amnesia: A Machine for Pigsand the minimalistic strategy title,Kingdom New Lands. Unlike free-to-play titles likeRocket League, Fortnite,andRogue Company, these games will only remain free for a limited time, so fans must be quick to grab them from theEpic Games Storewhile they can.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, the sequel to thecritically acclaimedAmnesia: The Dark Descent, puts players in the shoes of Oswald Mandus, a wealthy industrialist and butcher who the game implies is distantly related to the protagonist of its predecessor. Oswald must solve a series of puzzles while engulfed in a creepy, hair-raising environment during his quest to regain his memory. The sanity mechanic from the prior game was scrapped for this title, meaning the darkness and looking at the creatures will not hamper the gameplay. WhileThe Dark Descentwas regarded as a true horror experience,A Machine for Pigsis seen as a more creepy and weird title in the series.
The other free title,Kingdom New Lands, is of quite a different breed. While both titles are survival-esque,Kingdom New Landsallows players to build and create their own kingdom while trying to survive various enemies thatfight to steal the player’s crown. The player’s potential king or queen must ride on horseback to collect coins so they can purchase resources that will help them on their adventure, such as a defensive wall for protection. The further the royalty departs from the central kingdom, the more dangerous the encounters become.
