Though the AM4 socket has been succeeded by the AM5 platform used by the Ryzen 7000 and 8000 series,AM4 motherboards are still widely availableat lower prices for consumers to consider.

The last time AMD released an XT-branded CPU lineup was in 2020. The Ryzen 3000 series of CPUs received variants such as the Ryzen 7 3800XT, which offered only an increase of 200 MHz of boosted clock speeds compared to the Ryzen 7 3800X. However, both the 3800X and 3800XT processors had launch prices of $399 in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
