The 1.6-terabyte leak publicized sensitive employee information, the studio’s future roadmap of games, a development build forWolverine, planned DLCs forSpider-Man 2, a canceledSpider-Manmultiplayer game, and much more. Surprisingly, somedetails surroundingMarvel’s Spider-Man 3were also uncovered in the breach despite the game being years away from any meaningful acknowledgment from PlayStation or Insomniac.
With over 1.6 terabytes of information to sift through, the same group of modders thatunofficially ported aSpider-Man 2build to PCclaims to have recently discovered images of a very early development version ofSpider-Man 3.Twitter user zvis_ceral supposedly received two imagesfrom this group and posted them in a recent tweet. The images show a femaleSpider-Mancharacter swinging across a new open area that’s inaccessible inSpider-Man 2’s map. The thread reveals even more images of this build, with the character swinging through Midtown and perched on what appears to be a construction site.
Alleged Spider-Man 3 Images May Have Revealed a New Protagonist
The graphics are expectedly a bit choppy as the build is likely not even pre-alpha, but interestingly, the suit design and motif of the femaleSpider-Mancharacter could point to her being Cindy Moon, aka Silk.Spider-Man 2’s post-credits scene teased the inclusion of Cindy Moonas a potential protagonist for the next game, but without revealing her face. It was also hinted that she may not have received her powers yet, and it remains to be seen when Insomniac plans to formally introduce her into the in-game universe.
Some speculate that Silk may receive her own spin-off game in the same vein asSpider-Man: Miles Moralesto set her up forSpider-Man 3, but the leaked Insomniac roadmap didn’t show any such project on the horizon. Another likely candidate for Silk’s introduction is the purportedVenomspin-off game which is internally scheduled for 2025, although the leak could have affected Insomniac’s plans. All that can be surmised right now is that Silk will be an established character beforeSpider-Man 3’s eventual release, which might coincide with the launch of the PlayStation 6.
