Summary
Alan Wake 2update 1.16 is now available for download on PC and consoles. This release introduces a handful of improvements to Remedy Entertainment’s latest survival horror game and is the second update thatAlan Wake 2has received since the turn of the year.
The Finnish developer set quite a high bar with its last patch for the critically acclaimed title. Released in late January,Alan Wake 2update 1.15debuted a huge array of bug fixes and improvements. A few new features were also part of the package, including a useful Chapter Select menu and the ability to adjust the visual and audio intensity of horror flashes. The changelog attached to the late January patch included nearly 100 items in total.

Remedy has now followed up on that release by rolling out the 1.16 update on February 8. This is a decisively smaller revision of the game, introducing just four changes in total, with one of those being exclusive to theXbox Series X/S version ofAlan Wake 2. Specifically, Xbox players should no longer encounter random crashes after the game has been suspended or while exiting it.Alan Wake 2is far from the only title that’s been experiencing (in)stability issues related to the Xbox Series X/S Quick Resume feature. Even Microsoft’s recent first-party titles such asStarfieldandForza Motorsporthave exhibited similar problems in the past.
The newestAlan Wake 2updatealso resolves a bug that would sometimes prevent players from exiting container menus and interactable notes. Although Remedy did not elaborate on the cause of this issue, its changelog indicated there were numerous ways in which this broken state could have been triggered prior to the patch.

Alan Wake 2 Version 1.16 Fixes Annoying Cauldron Lake Bug
Players who got stuck in Cauldron Lake because the Lighthouse keys would not spawn after opening the last Cult Stash might want to giveAlan Wake 2another go now, as the game’s latest update fixes this bug as well. The final issue addressed in the 1.16 patch is a visual glitch that sometimes caused Saga Anderson’s crossbow to reappear on her back after being stored in the Shoebox.
While Remedy isn’t likely to be done patchingAlan Wake 2, minor updates of this sort aren’t the only thing that the studio has in store for its highly rated game. Specifically,Alan Wake 2will soon receive two paid expansionsin the form of Night Springs and Lake House, both of which are planned for release sometime in 2024.
