Voice actors Charolette McBurney and Logan Hannan will reprise their roles as siblings Amicia and Hugo de Rune. This probably won’t be too much of a surprise to anyone who recognized their voices inA Plague Tale: Requiem’s extended gameplay trailer from June. Meanwhile, Amicia and Hugo’s mother Beatrice de Rune, played initially by Katherine Pageon, has been recast with voice actress Lucy Briggs-Owen. Finally, Kit Connor will voice the apprentice alchemist Lucas, previously portrayed by voice actor Edan Hayhurst.
While McBurney and Hannan began their careers withA Plague Tale: Innocence, Pageon and Hayhurst’s voices may be slightly more familiar. In addition to her various TV roles, Katherine Pageon voiced several characters inBloodborne, including Sister Adella and the female player character. She also lent her voice to the female version of Anri of Astora inDark Souls 3and Queen Victoria inCivilization 6. Kit Connor’s filmography doesn’t include roles in as many AAA games, though he’s done voice work forNintendo and Monolith Soft’sXenoblade Chronicles 3and the 2020 PS4 gameDreams. His TV work includes voicing Lyra’s daemon companion Pantalaimon in HBO’sHis Dark Materials.
It’s unclear why Pageon and Hayhurst won’t be reprising their roles as Beatrice and Lucas, though several fans on Twitter expressed disappointment at the news. Katherine Pageon’s IMDB page is relatively sparse, with her most prominent roles beforeA Plague Tale: Innocencebeing that of Empress Celene andWarden Commander Clarel in 2014’sDragon Age: Inquisition. Meanwhile, Edan Hayhurst has had various TV roles, including one episode of Netflix’sLeague of Legendsanimated seriesArcane.
Developers also did not comment onA Plague Tale: Requiem’s French voice cast, which some fans were curious about. Some players feel that the option to play throughA Plague Tale: Innocencewith French voices and English subtitles adds authenticity, similar to how some prefer Russian voice acting in theMetrogames. While that feature probably isn’t going anywhere, some fans might like reassurance that their preferred cast members are making a return.
A Plague Tale: Requiemreleases on October 18 for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
