The game itself wasdeveloped by a relative newcomer in the industry, Claytechworks made many debut choices on this project. However, while the studio itself is relatively new the professionals themselves are veterans in the JRPG atmosphere and are responsible for compiling a meticulous amount of hidden treasure and rare mobs.
9Excalibur
Bravely Default 2is known for having more difficult encounters with bosses and other forms of mobs throughout the game. Because of this, many rare drops and weapons are integral to surviving the power scale of bosses and quests throughout the storyline. Excaliber, named after thefamed sword of King Arthur, is a light-based sword that is a hidden drop that provides a boost against enemies. The sword itself can be found in the Eternian Central Command Prison B2, by going through a hidden passage that begins at the southeast of the staircase on that floor.
8Title Screen Easter Egg
Many fans will notice the subtle nod to a large inspiration for theBravely Defaultseries, and this can be seen in the title sequence of the upcoming installment. The text “Where The Fairy Flies” appears, and the developers removed the two F’s, linking the choice to theFinal Fantasyfranchise.Final Fantasywas one of the main inspirations for theBravely Defaultgaming interface, and the similar details, fighting styles, and story progression are very similar to the older styles ofFinal Fantasyinterface.

7The Nightmare
The Nightmare is arare spawn found in the world explorationofBravely Default 2.In the game itself, there is a massive hunt for the rare spawns that appear on the map and are sometimes difficult to find. The Nightmare is one such rare spawn, an undead horse that was previously mentioned in theBravely Defaultplaythrough. This rare is a dark element that is weak to light attacks, and therefore utilizing a healer for their light attacks against this spooky opponent.
6Mushussu
Fans of Disney’sMulanwill be overjoyed to see the likeness of the lovable character, Mushu, present on the rare monster list forBravely Default 2.While not the sassy red dragon most players are used to, the hard-to-find reptilian monster is still rewarding and fun to hunt down. Finding the elusive easter egg is a little more difficult than others, due to its location. After clearing out the Savalon’s sewers dungeons, heading north within the zone will lead to an exit. After passing through, players will find themselves in a rather lush oasis-type of an environment with Mushussu in the center of it.
5The Bravebearer
Called the “Secret Job,” theBravebearer is considered one of the strongest jobs in the game so far. The summary of the job itself describes incredible abilities that were once thought to be “long lost,” and uses these incredible abilities to inspire courage in those around them. This job is achieved by first beating the entire game all the way through, which sadly makes this job something the player cannot use on their main storyline. Once the game is beaten, loading the save file back will take the player back to Chapter 6. Going to the Valley of Sighs in Halyconia through the path leading to a gravestone. Interacting with the grave will summon the boss, and is considered one of the toughest fights in the game.

Additionally, the boss isSloan, Hero of Light. This can also be viewed as its own Easter egg given the original intention for the series to be a continuation ofThe 4 Heroes of Light. After defeating him, he gives the Asterisk to unlock the class.
4Leannan Sith
In Irish mythology, there are legends about beautiful fairy women who fall in love with mortals and grant them inspired, albeit short, lives.Leannan Sidhe are known for their reclusive nature and beauty, which is whyBravely Default 2decided to place this spawn near a cliff overlooking a serene waterfall. Hiking up north of Halyconia, near the top of the map, and near the Halyconia Hills Dungeon will give the players a chance to battle off against the Irish legend. Leannan Sith is considered the weakest of the rare monsters and can be defeated first at around level 8 and up, with players prioritizing both poison and white magic against her.
3Secret Ending
Adam is a mysterious character who appears in the prologue ofBravely Default 2and aspires to steal the wind crystal away from Gloria. Players have to face him in an inevitable battle at the beginning of this adventure, and this is a battle that is fated to lose. However, this was the original thought when facing this powerful opponent, yetmany players find themselves being able to beat the unbeatable. By restarting the game after completing the characters become stronger when starting, and therefore give a significant boost to fighting strength and abilities.

When you manage to beat Adam through careful pacing and strategy, the game ends after that and virtually says that this was unexpected and starts over. Once starting over, the game informs players they should throw the match with Adam to continue the game and allow the story to unfold.
2Susanoo
While manyNarutofans are looking for a new anime obsession after the series ended,Bravely Default 2gives a nostalgic easter egg. Susanoo is one of the rare monster spawns found throughout the world and makes an interesting challenge for players going up against a fire-based opponent. West of Holograd, and rather easy to spot because of the glowing fire, Susanoo provides a unique challenge for players. The name Susanoo is also the God of Storms in Japanese mythology and is the younger brother of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu.
1Baal
Considered one of the most difficult rare spawns to fight in the game itself, Baal is a frustrating opponent with heavy attack abilities and strong armor. Another neat trick that Baal seems to have picked up is stealing weapons of players who are near it. Attacking with melee strikes has the potential for the rare spawn to steal weapons in the midst of battles, which can leave players in a bind with a rare boss that has more than enough health to spare. A natural and equal opponent for Baal would be a Monk, who doesn’t require weaponsto dish out the damage necessary to tear down the rare boss. Another recommendation for healing proficiency during this fight, but it is ultimately a rewarding one for bringing down a downright brutal opponent. Along with being a rewarding opponent, Baal is also a Final Fantasy Easter egg namely for the Ba’al Crater inBravely Second: End Layerand for monsters of the same name.
