The month of September also saw the return of new bugs and sea creatures for players to collect andhelp Blathers with filling up the island’s museum.
Ever since the release ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizonslast March, the game proved to be the title that most fans of the franchise have ever dreamed of. However, despite the game receiving mostly-positive reviews andselling over 22 million copies in under a year, there are still some features that players are requesting Nintendo to put in the game. Better Multiplayer Experience
It is without a doubt thatAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsprovided players with an amazing single-player experience that in some ways became a sort of escape from reality. However,New Horizon’s multiplayer featureis also a welcome addition, given that it provided players with the ability to visit the islands of other people, trade DIY cards, items, furniture, and even buy and sell turnips at a better price. However, one issue that prevents players from enjoying the multiplayer component is the way the game pauses every time a new player enters or leaves the island. One way that Nintendo could fix this issue is to allow players to come and go without having to stop the game and force everyone to wait for someone’s arrival or departure.
More Holidays and Festivals
Throughout the year, Nintendo adds new events in the game to give players something to do outside of their usual routine. Although there are many events that fill upAnimal Crossing: New Horizons’calendar, Nintendo could introduce even more holidays and festivals, especially since the game runs in real-time, meaning a year in the real world is also a year in the game. Additionally, Nintendo could also design festivals that allow a deeper involvement from the other villagers. Sure, there are some eventslike the seasonal Bug-offwhere players could see other villagers trying to catch bugs for themselves. However,Animal Crossingcould probably take a page fromStory of Seasonsand introduce festivals where the player could compete with other villagers.
Ability to Move the Resident Services Building
One of the best features introduced inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsis the ability of players to design their islands however they wish. Apart from being able to move around houses, build bridges and inclines, and placing outdoor furniture, the game allows players to terraform their islands. The aforementioned features give players total control on how they want their island to look. However, one thing that is permanently fixed in the game is the Resident Services Building, forcing players to design around it. Of course, this may be a minor issue to some, but being able to move the Resident Services Building would definitely be a welcome addition.
More Special Characters
ThroughoutAnimal Crossing’snearly two decades of existence, the franchise has produced some of the most adorable special characters. Luckily forNew Horizons’players, there are many of them in the game from the Nooks to Isabelle, Cyrus, and Reese,and most recently, Luna. However, there are still some other characters that would certainly be fun additions to the game such as Rover, Brewster, and Pete to name a few. Of course, given that Nintendo has added special characters in previous updates, it wouldn’t be unlikely if players will see more of them in future patches.
A Direct Way To Kick Out Villagers
There are over 400 potential villagers that players can invite to move into their islands. However, only 10 can live on the island at any given time, which means that players would have to be selective on who they want to live alongside in their village. Throughout the short existence ofNew Horizons,players were able to find subtle ways to make a particularAnimal Crossingvillager leave such as avoiding themor making a complaint about them to Isabelle. Unfortunately, for those not patient enough to go through and experiment with all these steps, there is no direct way to kick out villagers in the game.
