The war-themed puzzle adventure celebrated its first anniversary in late January. At that time,Valiant Hearts: Coming Homewas still a Netflix exclusiveconfined to Android and iOS devices. Ubisoft did treat it to a wider release in early March 2024, bringing it to the Switch and the latest two generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC, albeit only via its own digital storefront.
Valiant Hearts: Coming Home Gets Steam, Epic Games Store Pages
The fact that thissurprise wave ofValiant Hearts: Coming Homeportsended up skipping Steam did not raise many eyebrows, as that’s pretty much standard practice for new Ubisoft titles nowadays. What is much more surprising is that this period of Ubisoft Store PC exclusivity ostensibly won’t be particularly long. That’s suggested by the fact that Ubisoft has already launched Steam and Epic Games Store pages forValiant Hearts: Coming Home, both of which appeared on April 20.
Although neither of the newly emerged listings contains pricing information, Ubisoft generally maintains price parity across storefronts. Meaning that theSteam and EGSversions ofValiant Hearts: Coming Homewill likely retail at $14.99, the same as their Ubisoft Store counterpart. While Steam lists it as “coming soon,” its Epic Games Store page includes a concrete release date: May 24. Assuming this availability information is accurate, it’s plausible that the Steam version will also debut in late May.

Neither storefront includes any mention ofValiant Hearts: The Collection, the bundle containing both games in the puzzle adventure series that Ubisoft introduced in early March, along with theComing Homeconsole ports. That particular two-pack retails at $24.99 on the Ubisoft Store, thus offering a 16% discount compared to buying its full-priced contents individually.
Ubisoft’s games have been skipping Steam at launch since 2019. Most of them would then take years to reach Valve’s storefront, and that’s only after the company decided to return to selective Steam publishing in late 2022, following a three-year period of avoiding the platform entirely. In that context, the ten-week Ubisoft Store exclusivity period thatValiant Hearts: Coming Homenow appears to be looking at seems fairly short. Steam is even getting its first day-one Ubisoft game in five years on May 14, whenThe Rogue Prince of Persiais launching in early access.
