Nearly four years since the console’s debut, and Sony’sPlayStation 4has established an impressive library of games. And as it turns out, some of the console’s best games are completely exclusive to the platform, or at least, not available to play on its chief competition, Microsoft’s Xbox One.

Even with a strong library, though, there are those that have yet to pick up the console. Perhaps some gamers are curious about the PS4, but aren’t quite convinced that it has enough titles to justify its price tag. For anyone on the fence about picking up a PS4, we’re confident the following 10 games make the console worth buying.

Best Horror Games of 2015 - Bloodborne cover

10Bloodborne

From Software’sSoulsseries got its start on PlayStation, withDemon’s Soulsmaking waves as a PS3 exclusive back in 2009. Considering this, it’s no surprise that From Software decided to partner with Sony to releaseBloodborneas one of PS4’s most notable exclusives.

Retaining the tough-as-nails gameplay of theSoulsseries,Bloodbornemanages to carve out an identity of its own by doubling down on Lovecraftian horror themes and featuring a more offensive combat style than theSoulsseries. With high scores across the board,Bloodborneis one of the biggest reasons to own a PS4.

9Horizon: Zero Dawn

After working exclusively on the grimKillzoneFPS series for years, Guerrilla Games decided to try something completely different withHorizon: Zero Dawn. Trading the FPS gameplay ofKillzonefor an open world third-person action game,Horizon: Zero Dawnhas earned strong reviews for its compelling protagonist, challenging combat, and strong visuals.Horizon: Zero Dawn’s PS4 Pro supportmeans the game can even reach 4K resolution for those that have upgraded to Sony’s more powerful home console, making its gorgeous open world an even more impressive sight to behold.

Console exclusive to PS4,Nier: Automatatook the gaming world by surprise when it released earlier this year to overwhelmingly positive reviews. A followup to the niche titleNier, it’s safe to say thatNier: Automatawasn’t on the radar for many gamers, but it’s managed to get attention for its somber story, interesting cast of characters, and unique gameplay.Nier: Automata’s strong reviews have seen the game excel far beyond its predecessor, nearing 2 million units soldworldwide at last count.

7Nioh

BeforeNioh, Team Ninja needed a win. While the studio continued to produce decent games after the departure of founder Tomonobu Itagaki, it struggled to reach the same heights as itsDead or AliveandNinja Gaidendays. In many ways,Niohwas a return to form for the studio, blending Team Ninja’s distinct style withDark Souls-inspired combat. Ultimately, the marriage between Team Ninja’s style andDark Soulsproved to be a winning combination, asNiohstands as one of the highest-rated games of 2017 so far and on the PS4 in general.

6Persona 5

After years in development and numerous delays, JRPG fanatics finally got their hands onPersona 5earlier this year. Expectations were high forPersona 5, and it’s safe to say that the game not only met those expectations, but exceeded them. Some have even gone so far as to describePersona 5as the greatest JRPG of all time, and anyone that wants to play it on current-generation consoles can only do so on PlayStation 4.

5Ratchet & Clank

Ratchet & Clankis one of Sony’s most recognizable franchises, so it came as no surprise when a game in the series was announced for PS4. However,Ratchet & Clankon the PS4 isn’t a completely brand new adventure, but rather a remake of the original PS2 game, with some major changes to make it more in line with theRatchet & Clankfeature film. TheRatchet & Clankfilm bombed at the box office, but the game was well-received by fans, and it will be interesting to see if this re-imaginedRatchet & Clankuniverse is expanded on in sequels.

4Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Nathan Drake’s last adventureis equal parts heartbreaking and epic. The game plays out like an insane thrill ride, with players jumping from one ridiculous action set-piece to the next while learning about Drake and estranged brother, Sam. The relationship between Sam and Nathan is the driving force behind the plot, though players also get a chance to revisit some of the franchise’s other popular characters, with Sully and Elena having plenty of memorable moments to their credit as well.Uncharted 4: A Thief’s Endis a love letter to fans of the series, and it’s hard to imagine a better way to end Nathan Drake’s story.

3Until Dawn

Originally conceived as a PlayStation Move game,Until Dawnunderwent a drastic change in direction in its move to PS4. Playing like a big budget version of something from Telltale,Until Dawnmakes player choice a priority, with the actions of players determining who lives or dies by the time the credits roll. The story plays out like a classic ’80s slasher film, but it is far from predictable, with many twists and turns to keep players guessing. Fantastic graphics and the added star power of Hayden Panettiere help solidifyUntil Dawnas one big reason to pick up a PS4, especially for horror fans.

2What Remains of Edith Finch

What Remains of Edith Finchis one of the most emotionally-charged games in the PS4’s library. While some may knock it for being a “walking simulator,” the game constantly throws fresh ideas at the player, and manages to tell its heartfelt story in a clever way. What Remains of Edith Finchmay not have garnered as much attention as other games on this list, but it’s still one of the better games on the system, and is certainly worth checking out.

1Yakuza 0

A quirky, over-the-top open world game,Yakuza 0is just the latest in a long series of games that Sega has been developing for a little over a decade now. However,Yakuza 0is widely considered to be the best the series has had to offer to date, earning praise for its strong sense of humor and engaging story. Hopefully the game’s popularity outside of Japan convinces Sega to be quicker with bringing new entries in the series to the west, and fans won’t have to wait too long to get their hands onYakuza 6.

FromBloodbornetoYakuza 0, these are 10 games that make the PlayStation 4 worth the price of admission. There are plenty of other high profile PlayStation 4 exclusive games on the horizon as well, including the likes ofSpider-Manfrom Insomniac Games and the highly anticipatedGod of Warreboot.
